We have quite the plum crop this year - our tree has produced so much fruit that three of the branches have broken off from excess weight.  It looks more like grapes than any fruit tree I've ever seen.  Next year we'll have to actually trim the darn thing, but this year - TOO MANY PLUMS!  They have to be picked every day or we have a carpet of burst fruit that fell to the ground - and even when we do collect every day there are fallen plums waiting for us.

We fill a grocery sack every day (that's without actually getting all the ripe ones - it's a tall tree!) and put it curbside with a note that says, "DEAR LORD SAVE US FROM THESE" and we've gotten quite a few takers.

The center picture is today's crop: all 27 pounds of it.
