Favorite food: Fettucini alfredo (aka: creamy pasta), things without sauces on them. The plainer the better. Although we just had a taco night where he voluntarily mixed the saffron rice with cheese and sour cream and made it into a burrito. This is huge progress for the guy who usually eats plain tortillas.
Favorite book: Star Wars Legos readers
Favorite stuffed animal: Spot (one of the dogs from Declan's dog house from the Pitmans, which Declan graciously relinquished - he also gave one to Cael, and kept the other three for himself)
Favorite show: Lego Ninjago, Star Wars*
Favorite toy: Legos, Legos, Legos! Finn will sit and build Legos for hours. He's not huge into the pretend play, not like Ryder and Declan are, but he really gets lost in the construction. He's following directions and building sets that are listed for ages 8-12 and he needs no assistance.
Favorite hobby: Building forts (with Fort Magic), sleeping with Spot, playing Legos, eating creamy noodles, playing phone
Favorite time of day: Afternoon (when Cael comes home) [editor's note: that's his answer, but I find it really hard to believe. I would say his favorite time of day is school - he really thrives there.]
Favorite thing to say: "I love Mom and Dad" [editor's note: also his answer, but I think he's just sucking up. If I got to answer this one I'd say his favorite thing to say was some sort of incoherent scream or yell]
Classes: Ballet
Milestones: Finn's a reader! Today he read Splat the Cat even though the teacher had attached a sticky note to it suggesting it was probably too hard. He read it like a champ!
Finn goes to school full day and really loves it, so we've cut out naps, but sometimes he will fall asleep before dinner because he's so tired.
He's lost two teeth.
He refuses to let me style his hair how I want to, and it's an ordeal to get a comb through it. Plus, he never, ever takes off his jacket. Future Finn, I'm putting all this fashion on you and taking zero of the blame.
*He only recently saw the very first Star Wars, but has read so much about it he is an expert and has somehow convinced himself that he's seen it.
[Further editor's note: I surveyed him earlier, but as I sit to upload the photos and finalize the post, Finn is in bed, hiding under his covers. He has declared that he does not love us and he is going to wake up in the morning and walk to a new country where he will find a new family. Ryan offered to give him money and food and inquired about whether he would go to school first or just take off after breakfast. He's undecided. This seriously upset Declan, who at least wanted a kiss goodbye. Finn would not oblige. The reason for his hatred is that I watched a baby video of Declan's first sentence with Declan and before Finn got to see it I said the sentence and he overheard. Also, he's still upset about it being bedtime. The world is a supremely unjust place, let me tell ya.]
